The Enterprise Digital Experiences Team (EDX) is responsible for the product management of American Express' proprietary digital products - Amex Mobile App, Web, Identity, Digital Commerce & Customer Personalization. As a team we are focused on driving engagement, satisfaction, and revenue, through a combination of best-in-class user experience and compelling features and functionality. We have a global remit and, with our partners across the company, we bring the best of American Express' payment and related services to life through our digital experiences.

Our Team:

As part of EDX, the Enterprise Identity team (EID), is responsible for providing industry leading identity solutions across all channels, markets, and lines of business at American Express. Our colleagues create and manage innovative, scalable capabilities to power the world's best customer experience while maintaining the highest levels of security and compliance.

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Strategy and Planning who will play a critical role in assisting the VP of EID and the broader EID leadership team in driving the continued growth and development of the team. The role will be directly responsible for team wide strategic planning, budget management, communications, colleague experience and special projects. The role will be an integral part of the leadership team and will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of strategic, communication and analytical initiatives to help ensure our customer and business objectives are attained.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner across the team to define, document and communicate strategic priorities and help shape the EID vision, strategy and roadmap
  • Document annual and quarterly goals for the team, assist with tracking performance against goals and communication with the team on performance on a regular basis
  • Create presentation for business updates with senior leaders and internal stakeholders to showcase key initiatives, channel performance and update on strategic priorities
  • Develop content and agendas for internal and external meetings (e.g. Town Halls, workshops, employee engagement events)
  • Support the VP with management and administration of quarterly/annual processes (goal setting, scorecard management, year-end performance reviews, talent assessments, investment planning, and business planning)
  • Own and manage team budgets, ensuring accuracy of reporting, correct utilization of funds, and escalating and resolving any issues in coordination with business partners
  • Collaborate with enterprise partners from Product, Technologies, Servicing as well as with other centers of excellence on key initiatives and business priorities
  • Build partnerships across the Blue Box and act as a key interface for business partners
  • Understand the pulse of the EID team, assess the health of colleague engagement and development within the team, propose recommendations to address key themes/top priorities and manage initiatives to optimise (including team events, rewards and recognition and more)
  • Ensure effective flow of information and communications with the team
  • Play a key role in driving the goals of the team, including oversight of key special projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills are essential
  • Proactive and detail oriented with ability to think "end-to-end" and work autonomously
  • Versatile, with ability to wear many hats and focus on creative problem solving
  • Strong sense of integrity with ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain complete confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to translate strategic thinking into effective presentations
  • Excellent communications skills with emphasis on confidence and composure required to effectively communicate to senior leaders
  • Experience operating with cross-functional teams, internal and external partners
  • Highly collaborative with a demonstrated ability to partner for results and influence effectively across the organisation; ability to develop and harness a strong network of colleagues to deliver results
  • Ability to efficiently prioritise, solve problems independently, escalate appropriately, manage tight deadlines, and handle changing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Strong strategic and intellectual capability combined with creative/innovative thinking
