Job description

The National Crime Agency (NCA) leads the UK�S fight against Serious and Organised Crime, protecting the public from the most dangerous criminals. We are committed to attracting new talent to our Team by recruiting apprentices into the Agency and developing them into capable accredited investigators.

The role of an NCA SCCI Apprentice, requires no prior law enforcement experience, with all successful applicants enrolled on the SCCI Apprenticeship programme which combines academic study with the practical skills and the knowledge required to become an NCA Investigator. This is a two and a half year structured training programme, in which officers are required to evidence competence across a range of investigational, intelligence and analytical competencies.

By successfully completing the SCCI Apprenticeship programme and achieving accreditation as an NCA investigator, you will be trained to partake in serious and organised crime investigations to a national standard.

These roles are integral to the Agency�s ability to lead the UK�S fight to cut Serious and Organised crime, and offer the opportunity to gain a degree whilst gaining the skills to specialise in both overt and covert investigations and progress to a world of varied careers in one NCA.

All candidates have to successfully pass through vetting and the cohort is expected to start in June 2025.

You will be working towards becoming a G5 Experienced Investigator on successful completion of the apprenticeship, if you are offered a permanent post.

Please Note;�All applicants must be able to travel daily from their home station to the University of West London, Ealing Broadway.�

***To be considered, you will need to successfully complete SC Enhanced clearance before commencing the role. Candidates may be required to undergo DV Clearance as part of their role; this will be communicated to candidates on a case by case basis.***

Person specification

As an NCA investigator your work varies from day to day, either working in an office investigating serious criminals and preparing case files, deployed in the field, attending scenes of crime, arresting suspects, interviewing witnesses, leading an investigation, or safeguarding vulnerable children and adults. The work will require you to have a dynamic approach to your work ethic, be a good team player with the ability to flex to changing demands.

No two days are the same with the NCA. The successful candidates will embark on an 6 month comprehensive course where you are committed to full time within the university until completion of an exam. After this, you will no longer be required to go full time to the university, you will be working within the NCA where 20% of your allotted time within your working hours will be allocated towards your learning and development, for this apprenticeship.�

Please Note the following for your application:

Learners must have achieved a pass (A*-C or 4 -9 ) in Maths and English GCSE, or equivalent. If the learner hasn�t achieved this, they will need to do Functional Skills alongside their apprenticeship and achieve a pass, otherwise the apprenticeship cannot be successfully completed.�If the learner has passed a higher qualification such as A Level, and has English/Maths in the title, this is also accepted.If learners have studied abroad and have overseas qualifications, they will need to get a Statement of Comparability from UK ENIC as evidence.�The learner needs to have lived in the UK for at least the previous 3 years before the start of learning.If the learner has an equivalent or higher qualification within the same subject area as the apprenticeship, the learner will not be eligible for the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

The following qualifications/skills are essential to the role, and proof will be required at interview:

� Confirmation of holding a minimum of 5 GCSE Grade 4 / C, including Mathematics and English, or equivalent.
� 96 UCAS points: 3 A levels at C grade or above or BTEC Extended Diploma(merit,merit,merit) or T-Levels - full T level achieved at Pass (A*-C)

Failure to provide evidence at interview may result in your application not progressing to the next stage.

Alongside your salary of �29,627, National Crime Agency contributes �7,999 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
