Summary of the role
Howden Specialty Broking is looking to establish an internal data engineering capability and are looking for a Data Engineer with experience of working on Microsoft based data platform projects, with strong azure experience. The ideal candidate will have a background as a Data Engineer with previous experience of delivering data solutions using Azure services including SQL and ADF. The role requires someone who can be hands-on but able to support with solution reviews and designs, ensuring best practice and provide assurance on development approach. To be successful you will need to be able manage multiple project deliveries at the same time and have an outstanding attention to details.
Responsibilities
- Experience in Azure platform architecture and developing data engineering pipeline.
- Experience in SQL, ADF and Azure Analysis Services
- Provide technical expertise in data engineering, analysis, orchestrations and enrichment
- Enable use cases at the silver layer with direct impact on business use cases
- Be a key part of the successful Data Engineering and Specialty Client Insights team
- Experience of working as a Data Engineer or similar role (preferably at least 3 years)
- Proven track record in Data Engineering and supporting the business to gain true insight from data
- Ideally, proven experience working with insurance data
- Experience with data tools (e.g. ADF, , Analysis Services (DAX) and SQL, Fabric.)
- Experience with good development practices and automation
- Highlyorganized, with good planning/prioritization/time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strongproblem solvingskills
- Self starter, able and willing to develop new skills e.g. Python, Databricks
