Job summary

The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army.

This post is located within the Army Aviation Centre (AACen) at Middle Wallop. The AACen is responsible for the training pipeline for, and delivers, Aviation Training, both Aircrew and Ground crew for the Army Air Corps (AAC), as such the organisation is hugely influential in the development of Aviation war-fighting capability.

The HEO Validation post sits within the Training Design Innovation and Validation (TDIV) team, providing training design functions for all AAC training conducted at Middle Wallop and promote continuous improvement across all activity.

This role is responsible for the management of all validation, assessment and assurance for all courses delivered at the AACen. Creating reports on training performance and diversity and inclusion issues to the chain of command. The post holder will work alongside civilian and military staff within a professional environment, this role is ideal for a high-reaching individual looking to expand and refine their skills.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

Key areas of responsibility for the HEO Validation include-

Create, review, maintain question banks and summative assessmentsProduce summative assessments via Virtual and E-Learning platformsCourse ValidationAct as the focal point for the competence award processLiaise with HQ AAC Training Development Team (TDT), other schools and external agencies on Validation, Assessment and Assurance mattersLiaise with Course Design personnelLiaise with training delivery departments to ensure the effective completion of the course assessment process via the course training planAttend Training Working Groups, Symposia and Exhibitions commensurate with role and as determined by Senior Executive Officer Training Design Innovation and ValidationLine management responsibilities for X1 EO ValidationAny other duties commensurate with grade and experience as directed by Line Manager

This role requires an individual with the following personal attributes:

Essential:

Strong engagement skills. Clear communication and excellent organisational skills. Candidates must be comfortable with uncertainty and change and take the initiative.Proficient using MS Office, specifically MS Word, Excel, and Teams.

Desirable: Experience with using different IT systems and software.Training will be provided to the successful candidate.

The post-holder requires a high degree of IT literacy with good communication and inter-personal skills.

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
