Risk & Control Regional Lead - Syndicate Operations, VP

Position Overview
Risk & Control Regional Lead role for Syndicate Operations is a position intersecting line, change and technology at a time of significant and rapid transformation in the Syndicate Operations organization and supporting platforms. The successful incumbent will leverage syndicate operational experience together with hands-on involvement in core Syndicate Equity Capital Markets & Debt Capital Markets platform renovation and replacement to deep dive on areas and flows of critical importance and complexity; to challenge the integrity of process, platform and direction of travel; to align multiple parallel books of work and co-dependencies and present a singular high level program overview; to bridge global line leads and project / change specialists to ensure harmonization of strategy; and to aid in the analysis plus resolution of program risk. Creating a collaborative, innovative work environment that effectively celebrates innovation and diversity of thought and experience in a global, virtual model will be important to ensured success.
The role will report regionally to the Cluster Syndicate Operations head.
What you'll do:
- As a senior and experienced subject matter expert with deep understanding of Syndicate Operations processes and support requirements, perform the role of Risk Controller.
- Enforce a Risk Control program across Syndicate Operations to identify and reduce Operational, Regulatory, Reputational and Financial Risk.
- Deep dive into critical and complex processes, identifying risks, implementing plans to mitigate and report those risks and liaising with Line Control Colleagues to ensure that those risks are captured within the Risk Framework.
- Work with Line teams to identify and mitigate control gaps across Syndicate Operations.
- Perform the role of key liaison across Syndicate Operations teams in a Risk & transformation capacity supporting the Regional Operations managers.
- Develop and maintain high level process flows identifying risks and handshakes between multiple teams and systems.
- Drive risk identification and reduction and push system enhancements to support the risk reduction strategy.
- Present Risk program status to senior global leadership, ensuring that program risk is articulated, understood and that mitigating actions are viable and accurately delivered vs. target.
- Through action and leadership, create an inclusive, high performance environment where diverse, motivated talent thrive and excel, innovate, challenge status quo and deliver exceptional client experience plus regulatory and control adherence.
What we'll need from you
- Prior relevant experience
- Subject matter expert in at least one area of Securities and Derivatives processing. Preferred Syndicate Operations.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
