Job summary

The Defence College for Military Capability Integration (DCMCI) is one of the key operating units of the Defence Academy (DefAc). DCMCI trains the UKs Armed Forces as well as Civil Servants, International Allies and Industry Partners, focusing on the �technological edge�, leveraging the technology and information necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected, complex and ambiguous strategic and operating environment. This role is within the Defence Wargaming, Modelling and Simulation School (DWMSS) within DCMCI.
The main purpose of the job role is to help manage and design Wargaming educational courses, from Level 1 introductory to Level 2, 3 and onto Level 4 Expert competency (ensuring DSAT alignment throughout) and be the Defence Academy�s focus/SME for Defence Wargaming.� In conjunction with the other Objectives listed below, the post will also promote the effective use of modelling, simulation and Wargaming as a means of improving cognitive processes by providing SME advice, instruction and thought leadership across UK Defence.�

The incumbent must also be comfortable working in a high tempo, rapidly changing environment with minimal supervision, managing conflicting priorities and operating under their own initiative, both in the UK and overseas as required. An ability to prioritise, work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines are all necessary.

Possessing excellent presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written), the post will also have strong organisational abilities.� In addition to this, expertise in IT (including word-processing, PowerPoint, Excel, Sharepoint and M365) will be required, with Power BI and MS Project experience being an additional advantage.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Strategic Command is going through a significant transformation programme which aims to improve the way the Command conducts its business and delivers for Defence and the nation. As a consequence of this, all posts within Strategic Command Headquarters and in time the wider organisation, are/will be subject to review and potential changes as we continuously improve across the period of the transformation programme. Job description

Training Manager/Designer for Wargaming educational courses, from Level 1 introductory to Level 2, 3 and onto Level 4 Expert competency, ensuring DSAT alignment throughout.Defence Academy focus/SME for Defence Wargaming.Provide direct Wargaming and educational advice and support to the Wargaming Hub.Provide Wargaming and educational advice to wider MOD, PAGs, Allies and Partner Nations.Provide courses and directed research SME advice support of the Academic Partner contract.Act as the Training Manager/Designer for Wargame-related MOD bespoke training, income generation, including OGDs, Allies and Partner Nations, and the Academic Partner. Private Venture courses in the UK and overseas.Apply wargaming (or wargaming techniques) to assist in other educational course delivery at the Defence Academy to obtain specified learning outcomes.Fulfil all staff obligations as laid out in the Civil Service �Deal� and D&I mandatory objectives and undertake learning and development and upskilling as required.Undertake any other tasks in support of the College as directed by Head DWMSS and/or Head TCG.

Alongside your salary of �35,290, Ministry of Defence contributes �9,528 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
