What will you be doing?

This is a key role for our large expanding school and the successful candidate would be expected to play a key part in its development. The role includes a 3 bedroom bungalow on the school site. Thorndown has strong community links and a dedicated team of staff and governors.

We have 21 classes, a Pre-School and a Kids Club on site. We have pupils on roll and, whilst the days are busy, we have lettings on most evenings and at the weekend too.

The role of Residential Caretaker is key to ensuring that the school is clean and well cared for. You will work closely with the School Business Manager to ensure that the premises are well kept, supervising the team of amazing cleaners, working with contractors and general maintenance. Training is available to the right candidate, all we ask is that you are prepared to turn your hand to anything.

Security of the buildings and grounds
Health and Safety
Maintenance and repairs
Line manager for a team of cleaners
Liaising and working with external agencies and contractors
To support lettings at the school some evenings of the week and weekends
