A Store Manager is needed to join a friendly and welcoming team based in the centre of York. This is working for a long-standing, family run Retail company who believe in truly looking after their employees and customers and not focussing on KPI’s, and with this have numerous stores across the country and are still opening more stores to date.
Managing the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the store to achieve customer expectations, maximise sales and ensure long-term profits. Displaying creative and committed leadership within the constraints of the Company’s policy framework.
Along with a competitive salary of £30,000, you’ll be working for a well-known and well-loved local brand with excellent career prospects and opportunities for progression.
Some of the Store Manager duties will include but are not limited to:
- Manage a team of around 25 employees, recruiting, training and developing the team accordingly
- Health and Welfare of employees and customers, ensuring any accident procedures are followed
- Handling of Customer complaints and refunds
- Ensuring the store layout is attractive, planning promotions, advertising and displaying items, and marking down merchandise when needed
- Ordering stock to ensure that departments are kept adequately stocked with a competitive range of merchandise, ensuring any invoices are processed correctly
- Manage operations for the store ensuring that scheduled and emergency maintenance is done, cleanliness of the building, and reporting of any issues
- Opening and closing the store, managing the alarm and security systems
