There’s an exciting opportunity to advance your Public Health career by joining our friendly and supportive Public Health division at Nottinghamshire County Council. Our team enjoys the challenge of working together with key stakeholders and organisations to drive Public Health initiatives.
If you’re a highly motivated person with a passion for Public Health and are interested in shaping environments to enable local people to grow, live, work and age in places that promote good health and reduce health inequalities, then this could be for you. We have an exciting opening in the Healthy and Sustainable Places Team, where you’ll work to enable system-wide partnership working to create healthy places. Specific work areas that the role could initially include are food systems, healthy housing, and the physical activity environment, however the work areas are likely to vary to include other important building blocks health.
You must be qualified to degree level in Public Health or a related subject, or with equivalent demonstrable experience in Public Health practice. You’ll have excellent communication and partnership working skills, with an ability to build and maintain relationships across a variety of partners. You’ll be experienced in project management and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
The council has adopted a hybrid working strategy, enabling staff to use a blended approach of home and office working that suit individuals’ circumstances and business need. The formal office base for this post is County Hall, West Bridgford, or Meadow House, Mansfield, which you will be expected to work from as and when required.
Nottinghamshire County Council has an NHS Pension Direction Order in place, which means that we can provide ongoing access to the NHS Pension Scheme (NHSPS) where we recruit eligible new joiners to public health roles who are already in the NHSPS.
