The British Army protect the United Kingdom�s interests at home and abroad, providing a secure environment in which all British citizens can live and prosper. The Civil Service provides critical support to the Army in the delivery of its outputs. It is a diverse workforce that supports the Army across a variety of functions and professions. The Director Land Warfare (DLW) within HQ Land Warfare Centre (HQ LWC), a large and busy Headquarters.�

This is a pivotal time for the British Army as it begins to transition through a decade of delivery of new training platforms and looks to develop a brand new training system called the Land Training System (LTS) which will ensure that the whole Army has protected annually key training. This in turn allows the army to develop its training to have better capability for a 21st Century Fighting Force.

The Land Warfare Centre (LWC) is the primary Army organisation responsible for training and for driving the agile adaptation of the Army. LWC is closely linked with the rest of the Army and Defence; plays a key role in trade training and collective training; and uses experimentation and lessons to optimise the Army and advise the development of future capabilities. It has Eight, Operating Groups dispersed across the UK and permanent training bases in three other continents where we deliver training. In the same way that operational capabilities must be continually developed to be more effective and efficient, our training capabilities must also evolve.

The Change Manager is an exciting and vital role � which operates at the forefront of enabling people capabilities and leading change. Therefore, we are actively recruiting for a versatile individual to join the change team in the Business Centre to support the massive change that army training is about to embark on.�

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Key Focus Areas

Support the Assistant Head Transition and SO1 BCM with business change activity that comes through the Business Centre Front Door Process, assessing and developing options for the customer.

Develop LWC Change Management and Benefit Management Strategies

Support Change Management activity to support the LTS.

Maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders involved in all change requests and provide expert advice.

Develop and deliver a community of interest to support Change Management good practice.

Person specification

The successful candidate will bring a wealth of Project Delivery experience and will be central to delivering an exciting Change Transformation Programme. As a Change Manager, you will work alongside a team of both military and civilian staff to achieve the successful delivery of the programme through each of its critical stages. Strong Stakeholder engagement skills will be essential to ensure successful delivery across the projects.�

A strong user focus, to lead relationships with users. We need you to be able to understand the needs of the users and handle changing priorities, sometimes with challenging timescales. Additionally, you will assist with setting the requirements for, and helping to develop products and services, capturing evolving needs and proposing design approaches to meet these needs.�

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
