We're hiring for a Field Service Technician to join our growing team within Thermo Fisher Scientific's Life Science Solutions Groups' Global Service and Support team to support our customers based South UK. You'll be responding to our rapidly growing base of customers ensuring customer satisfaction levels working PCR and qPCR technology.

This role is a full time, permanent opportunity to be based in and around the Greater London area with frequent travel 75-100%% covering areas such as Oxford/Cambridge area.

What will you do?
  • Engage with customers and provide Preventative Maintenance (PM), basic repair services and verification and qualification services in a professional and timely manner
  • Follow reporting responsibilities of Escalation, Field Service Report (FSR) and travel expense report submissions
  • Be familiar with and follow policies around handling of spare parts: ordering, usage, returns and inventory
  • Maintain technical proficiency by attending training, employee meetings and remaining up to speed on new products, markets, customers and competitors
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes
  • Weekend work may be required on a rota basis
Who we are looking for:
  • Experience of working within a laboratory/scientific environment is beneficial but not essential for this role
  • Experience working within an engineering or similar role is beneficial
  • Has a driving licence as this role will involve frequent travel
  • Has a passion to move towards engineering
Travel

Frequent travel to customer site 75-100% of work time. 75% of the work is expected to be in the Greater London area with the remaining 25% across the rest of the UK.
