Based across King's Guy's, Waterloo and St Thomas' campuses, the Population Health Sciences department combines over 160 experts with patients and the public to better understand population health and primary care, social sciences and policy, epidemiology, statistics, and health economics.

The post holder will be based at Guy's Campus, in a team of highly motivated professional services and academic staff within the department of Population Health Sciences, School of Life Course and Population Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine.

About the role

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Senior Programme Officer in Online Education in the Department of Population Health Sciences. This is an exciting role within the Department, that will report to the School Manager and provide operational leadership and support to the running of two online programmes in MSc Public Health.

This Senior Programme Officer (Online Education) will lead on supporting the delivery of the King's Digital managed programme and will work closely with the Academic Team and Student Support Team to support students on the two programmes and ensure that student lifecycle activities run smoothly and effectively.

You will be responsible for the line management of one to two Education Support Programme Officers who will assist them in delivering those objectives and ensure that our students, staff and partners experience our services in a positive, seamless and effective manner.

In accordance with the new hybrid working policy, the role holder will be expected to spend a minimum of 40% FTE on campus.

This is a full time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Degree level or equivalent qualification or experience
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft documents and correspondence autonomously to a broad range of audiences
  3. Experience in the use of virtual learning environments, databases and student records systems (such as SITS) to provide management information data to a high level of detail and accuracy
  4. Experience of working in a customer facing environment with a knowledge of how to address complaints and service setbacks in a professional and efficient manner
  5. Have a methodical and flexible approach to work with ability to work under pressure to complete a range of competing priorities, and requesting and utilizing support as and when required
  6. Strong numeracy skills and the ability to analyse complex data
  7. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel) and the ability to quickly learn new systems
  8. Committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, actively addressing areas of potential bias

    Desirable criteria

    1. Experience of working as an administrator in higher education
