The Romero Catholic Academy are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Head of IT, with a passion for education, to support the MAC's Senior Leadership Team in providing strategic lead of IT and digital services across the MAC.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will manage the IT teams across the Trust, to develop and implement IT vision and digital strategy, aligning it with the MAC's strategic objectives.

The Head of IT will manage the MAC's IT Department. Working as part of the executive team the Head of IT will have overall responsibility for the delivery of the digital strategy, IT planning, budgets and projects, together with responsibility for delivery of a high-quality IT service to staff and students.


• Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the IT infrastructure across 8 schools in accordance with the MAC's strategic visions. Ensuring the School's approach to IT continuously adapts to support their needs.


• Accountable for delivering an effective and efficient service which enhances user experience for all school communities. Ensuring user focused IT to enhance teaching and learning experiences both in the classroom and remotely.


• Expected to work collaboratively with 8 Schools' Senior Management Teams, attending meetings as required, advising on best practice, and leading in the development of IT strategy, systems and policies.


• Responsible for the line management, appraisal, and development of the IT team


• Responsible for all aspects of technology, as it supports the operation and educational provision of the Schools. This will include the definition of strategy, project delivery and ensuring live support services are suitably managed and maintained.

The successful candidate will:

Demonstrable experience in implementing digital technologies and facilitating the effective use of IT to enhance teaching and learning, administration, and communication across a multi-site organisation.

Excellent knowledge of IT systems, applications, and infrastructure, including cloud computing, networking, and telecommunications.

A solid understanding of IT laws, regulations, and standards, such as data protection, cybersecurity, and safeguarding.

Ability to produce reports; analyse data; and implement and monitor systems, policies and procedures.

Awareness of the latest IT trends, innovations, and best practices, and ability to evaluate their potential benefits and implications for the MAC and its schools
