We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Research Nurse with appropriate clinical experience to join our research team. Applications are invited for a Haematology Research Nurse to work as an integral and valued member of an intensely research active department comprising leading Haematologists and Research Scientists based at the University of Cambridge and Cambridge University Hospitals.

The post holder will be part of the Cambridge Blood and Stem Cell Biobank, a research facility supporting clinical trials and providing valuable tissue for basic and translation research studies. The post holder will be part of an effective team working primarily to support local researchers and their collaborators. The ability to build good relationships with all our partners is essential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the drive and initiative to work across the diverse responsibilities of the role that will include working with patients with various forms of blood cancer, as well as healthy donors recruited from diverse areas of the hospital such as Paediatrics and Obstetrics. The potholder will be involved in recruitment of research participants and will work closely with medical/surgical/research teams in the Haematology, Oncology, Paediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialties.

This is an integrated appointment between the University and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust ("NHS Trust"). You will therefore also be issued with an Honorary Contract with the NHS Trust. You should be aware that if your contract with the NHS Trust is terminated your employment with the University will be terminated, and vice versa.

Applicants must have a professional nursing qualification and experience in Haematology, Oncology, Medical Research or a related speciality.

Part-time: The post is part time, a variety of working patterns will be considered with a minimum of 2.5 days expected.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a standard Disclosure and Barring Service check. This appointment also requires NMC Registration and a Research Passport application.
