The Client

A full-service law firm, and a longstanding client of Auston Legal, with an impressive corporate client base to whom they provide a comprehensive construction law offering. The team has grown significantly in recent years in line with its successes and is keen to recruit a junior lawyer to help service an increasing volume of work.

The team in Birmingham focus exclusively on construction disputes, acting for both defendants and claimants in relation to construction, infrastructure and energy projects. Clients include owners, occupiers, landlords and tenants, developers, contractors and subcontractors, specialist suppliers and manufacturers of equipment.

The Role

Our client wishes to recruit a junior lawyer to help service the team's increasing volume of work. The successful candidate will assist senior colleagues with complex, high value, disputes and gain significant experience of both litigation and ADR, including adjudication and arbitration.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous construction litigation, construction insurance or commercial litigation experience (NQ-3 PQE)
  • An ability to prioritise workload
  • An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Ability to work with case management systems
  • The personal skills to deal with major and expensive litigation
  • Legal qualification required – solicitor/FCILEx

    Desirable:
    • Willingness to play a role in the development of client relationships and of the practice as a whole.
    • Experience of ADR.
