Senior Construction Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Engineer to join our team at Nicholas Associates Construction. As a Senior Construction Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the engineering aspects of our projects, ensuring all works are constructed in accordance with the contract drawings, specifications, procedures, and plans.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the engineering aspects of projects, including design, construction, and testing.
- Oversee site engineers and mentor trainee engineers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and temporary works procedures.
- Develop and implement site systems consistent with company health, safety, and quality standards.
- Review short-term programmes and report site feedback to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Previous experience as a Senior Engineer (or similar) for a civil engineering contractor.
- Expertise in reinforced concrete structures, including bridges, basements, tunnels, culverts, tanks, formwork, and falsework systems.
- Familiarity with CDM regulations and temporary works procedures.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering specifications and testing procedures.
- Commercial awareness with experience working in cost-sensitive environments.
- Strong communication, people, and team management skills.
- Confidence to address HSEQ matters and lead by example.
- Experience with BIM software (Fieldview/Dalux or similar).
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD/Autodesk/SketchUp.
- Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers (or working towards).
- IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS certified.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Full UK driving licence.
