About the Department

The vision of the Information and Technology Directorate is to build on SOAS' global standing in a rapidly evolving digital world and help every member of SOAS to achieve the digital experience which meets their needs simply and efficiently, enabling SOAS' research, teaching and learning activities to flourish. Good quality data and scaleable processes will underpin this experience and provide decision-makers with information and insight needed to manage the needs of a unique organisation. The Directorate is organised into three primary divisions: Service Delivery and Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications, and Business Change.

About the Role

SOAS is seeking to appoint a Hardware Delivery Assistant to join the Information & Technology Directorate. This essential role supports a range of technologies that enhance the effectiveness of the entire institution.

The Hardware Delivery Assistant provides crucial support to staff, students and colleagues in using technical equipment in teaching and learning spaces. Responsibilities include performing physical install, move, add and change (IMAC) work as well as ensuring the timely delivery and collection of computer and multimedia hardware.

Working within an established policy framework, the role holder will recognise and implement necessary changes in close collaboration with their line manager. They will ensure that new IT equipment and issues with existing equipment are logged in the call management system for trend analysis and preventative measures.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for technology and a commitment to supporting the educational mission of SOAS.
