The role:

An exciting opportunity to join British Airways Engineering as a Business Manager on an 12-month FTC has arisen

Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery of key transformation initiatives, leading on improving the performance, tone and quality of exec stakeholder management, and driving improvements across engineering through analysis, collaboration and stakeholder advocacy.

Please note that this is not approved for international assignment.

What you'll do:

  • Own and lead projects, initiatives and insights across the Engineering directorate, liaising with Engineering departments and central directorates
  • Proactively recognise and mitigate barriers to cross-functional initiatives and can act as an intermediary across engineering and other directorates
  • Own and lead in preparing Exec-level presentations and reports (i.e. for Management Committee/ Board/IAG/Industry Presentations) liaising with relevant departments
  • Responsible for providing content from the Engineering leadership team to internal comms team for dissemination across Engineering and wider BA
  • Effectively use and continuously improve engineering analysis and insights
  • Champion digital transformation across engineering, leading relevant transformation initiatives
  • Create and manage meaningful metrics to uncover areas for improvement and to track impact of process changes

What you'll bring to British Airways:

  • A creative, yet strategic approach to planning, project and process management.
  • Ability to use and synthesise data, insights and statistics and translate results to better solutions
  • Ability to work at pace in an ambiguous environment, good with process, with a bias towards execution
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to constructively challenge and influence at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task on several concurrent projects while maintaining strict attention to detail
  • Solution-focused problem solving and thinking through problems creatively
  • Outstanding service ethic, comfortable tackling specific problems across multiple areas

Your experience:

  • Track record of establishing relationships to deliver improvements is essential.
  • Experience of working in a team environment, as well as independently and autonomously
  • Experience of working closely with senior leaders and helping to develop and deliver business strategy
  • Outstanding MS PowerPoint and Excel skills
