As part of our rapid digital expansion, we are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Merchandising and Optimization to drive the next phase of On's global e-commerce growth.
You will lead efforts across three key areas:
(1) Site Merchandising, (2) Site Optimization, and (3) Content Production, continuously enhancing the digital experience for our users.
Your expertise in understanding how content and consumer journeys impact overall business performance will be essential in maintaining a premium user experience.
You will need to balance conversations with brand and commercial stakeholders, manage in-season optimization trade-offs, and communicate key challenges to our Digital Product team to ensure our website and app are set up for future success.
With your proven first-hand experience and knowledge of across Site Merchandising, Site Experience Optimization and Content Production, you will collaborate across a high-performing team with a consumer-centric and data-driven culture at the core, driving efforts for our Digital flagship experience.
Your Mission
- Oversee development and execution of onsite marketing strategies to drive product discovery, generate value proposition awareness, increase average order value, and improve conversion rates
- Partner with Commercial Teams, Marketing, Digital and Retail to create compelling content and messaging across various channels including homepage, landing pages, collection pages, product listing pages, product detail pages and App to support the customer in their shopping decisions and drive purchase confidence
- Collaborate with Regional Digital Experience & Merchandising teams to coordinate new product introduction, inseason insights to inform recommendation strategies and exit strategies
- Partner with the Digital Leadership team and core functions to understand strategic priorities and develop merchandising plans and roadmaps for driving performance of .com and the app
- Partner with the Digital Product team to define and prioritize new marketing/merchandising functionality across platforms, and enhance merchandising tools and capabilities
- Collaborate with Digital stakeholders and Commercial teams on merchandising insights, trends and desired customer experiences in the development of platform and omnichannel marketing strategies
- Understand segment, regional, seasonal nuances and build strategies to best optimize merchandising placements and platforms as appropriate
- Monitor key performance metrics such as traffic, engagement, conversion rates, and revenue to see opportunities for improvement through generating actionable insights and recommendations to optimize the customer journey and improve return on investment
- You have 10+ years digital onsite marketing/merchandising or equivalent experience, with 5+ years experience leading teams
- You are a proven people leader who can build capabilities of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and guidance
- You have a deep knowledge of digital commerce and toolkits connected to Site Merchandising and Optimization (CMS, DAM, A/B Testing, Web Analytics)
- You have proven experience translating business priorities into impactful marketing and merchandising stories
- You are experienced in balancing multiple priorities, partners and work streams across geographies and business groups
- You have outstanding analytical and numerical proficiency; proficient in site analytics tools and comfortable working with data sets and making decisions based on data (utilising tools such as Google Analytics, Looker, Amplitude or similar)
- You are highly skilled at storytelling and building effective presentations, working with key stakeholders up to executive level
- You have an outstanding ability to problem solve, develop creative solutions, and demonstrate resourcefulness
- You have excellent project management skills, including work prioritisation and planning
