Job Description

Organon is hiring a Mechanical Technician to join our world class manufacturing site in Cramlington, Northumberland. In this role, you will maintain and repair equipment within designated areas, such that production priorities are met and the equipment performs to its optimum capability. Equipment such as HVAC, dust collectors, fluid bed dryers, granulation, dispensing and compression machines.


This is a shift based role working 12 hour shifts

Role Responsibilities:

  • Define, plan, perform and document planned maintenance activities, utilising the SAP maintenance management system and other appropriate systems.
  • Carry out planned maintenance of equipment as per procedural documentation.
  • Respond to breakdown of equipment within designated areas and perform fault finding, diagnose faults, organise internal / external resources, source parts and rectify faults to meet production requirements.
  • Document all maintenance activities to cGMP standards both in paper based records and the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Liaise with Maintenance Planner and internal customers to plan work around production requirements.
  • Liaise with external contractors, defining scope of works and planning / supervising site activities.
  • Proactively engage in continuous improvement activities relating to cGMP, Productivity and Safety
  • Liaise with internal customers to specify and plan project requirements.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Time served in a Mechanical or multiskilled Discipline.
  • HNC in mechanical engineering or relevant experience
  • SAP computerises maintenance management system or similar.
  • Pharmaceutical or similar industry experience.
  • IT literate and ability to utilise all Microsoft programs.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills and ability to interact and form good working relationships with cross-functional teams and external contractors.
  • Attention to detail and well-organised approach to working.
