The Purchase Ledger Clerk role forms part of the finance team and helps to drive continuous improvement in purchase ledger process across the business. You will take ownership of various aspects of the purchase ledger process, making sure that everything is completed on time and in line with our accounting requirements.
MAIN DUTIES:
Matching checking and coding invoices correctly Prepare Bank Payments Produce weekly proposed payment runsCashbook posting and allocationProcessing Staff expenses Weekly / Monthly Supplier statement recsMaintain and review the purchase ledger periodically to identify and correct any discrepanciesPO monitoring / chasingAdhoc supplier / management reportingAssisting with purchase ledger reconciliations at month end and preparation of PO/Late invoice accrualMaintaining relationship with suppliersLiaise with suppliers and resolve any queries regarding outstanding paymentsDealing with queries from external auditorsAdhoc payments

Essential Experience:
Must have experience in purchase ledger processes and Ledger maintenanceSage Line 200 experience Good IT skills mainly MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS TeamsExperience of working directly with the finance team to ensure accurate posting / recording of costs within the general ledger
Personal attributes:
Great interpersonal and communications skillsSelf-discipline and initiativeGood team working skills/flexibilityThe ability to work to daily/weekly/monthly deadlines
Training /Qualifications:
Breadth of experience in the purchase ledger role is most important.
Preferably will have a recognised accounting qualification or currently working towards.
