Job purpose

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join our team during a period of increased demand from the Board and our Private Equity Investor to support the execution of number of tactical and strategic deliverables.

You will own the operations of the UK Finance function and ensuring the integrity of all accounting entries.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to support our Group Finance Director deliver a number of key strategic and tactical projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a finance team of seven, ranging from qualified accountants to AP and AR specialists.Provide comprehensive oversight of the UK finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and alignment with global financial strategies.Oversee transaction postings, including General Ledger entries.Maintain the integrity of financial data, ensuring compliance with all regulations and accounting standards.Collaborate closely with the Finance Leadership Team.Liaise with external stakeholders, including BDO (UK auditors) and UK and US tax advisors.Support the Finance Director on devising value creation and transformation projects.Leverage a commercial mindset to support group-wide success, driving financial performance and ensuring the alignment of financial goals with the overall business strategy.Operate comfortably in an ambiguous environment, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in navigating challenges and implementing effective solutions.Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Essential Criteria:
Extensive senior finance experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Head of Finance or equivalent.Comprehensive knowledge in management accounting, financial accounting, statutory accounting, M&A (Integration), tax (UK/US), and compliance.Recognised accountancy qualification - preferably ACA or ACCA.Adaptability to a fast-paced, high-growth, and continually changing environment.Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS 102.Ability to produce high-quality reports for the Board and/or PE investors.Proactive and analytical approach to work with the capability to make well-considered decisions and work independently.Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and co-workers.Deadline driven and well organised. Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team effectively.Strong strategic thinking and the ability to influence and drive financial performance at a senior level.
Desirable Criteria:
Practice trained with the ability to manage group audits and UK/US group corporation tax computations.Experience with mid-sized group/PE-backed organisations or dynamic global leading brands.Advanced Excel knowledge and financial modelling skills.Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Navision).Experience in marketing agency or professional services is beneficial but not essential.
