Versus Arthritis is moving into a period of significant business and organisational change and you will be an important driver towards our ambition of becoming exemplar in SharePoint governance.

Reporting to the Head of ICT you will be central to the successful delivery of our SharePoint project, ensuring compliance with GDPR and to optimise running costs. Using your Project Management skills to ensure clear deliverables and timescales, you will lead a matrix team to deliver a secure SharePoint and OneDrive platform for effective internal communications.

About the role

The role will provide SharePoint project leadership resource for a team of 3rd party consultants and stakeholders across the organisation, this role is responsible for ensuring our SharePoint and OneDrive platforms are fully compliant with our data governance principles. This includes ensuring that unused data is identified and removed and access to data is transparently governed. Other goals include the platform meets our need for an embedded organisation-wide set of internal communication tools; and that the project delivers a fit-for-purpose platform to support the Charity's goals.

The role requires a strong commitment to service improvement and must be adaptable to changing the project goals and deliverables, to meet operation needs of a wide variety of teams across the charity.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Data Protection legislation including GDPR.
  • Experience of managing governance processes in a complex organisation, including planning, monitoring, and implementing change to agreed standards and deadlines.
  • Experience of developing operational models to support defined business rules.
  • Strong knowledge of document and content management practices gained over several years.
  • Extensive project management experience with a proven track record of delivery.
  • Experience of working with SharePoint sites and document libraries and 'building in' compliance with data protection principles.
  • High level of IT literacy and familiarity with the Microsoft 365 platform and tools.
  • Good understanding of policy and risk principles.

    Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. With the ability to negotiate and motivate stake holders to action.
    • Proven track record of project delivery including a recognised project management qualification or significant equivalent experience.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a project team, constructively with colleagues.
    • Ability to manage multiple demands and work under pressure.
    • Confidence and judgement to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
    • Strong team management skills: the ability to drive activity and operate on own initiative.
    • Ability to view and process large amounts of information to make informed decisions.

      *As a hybrid worker the expectation is that you will spend around 40% of your working time in our office spaces or working in community settings.
