TGRC is currently retained by a renewable energy IPP who are looking for a Construction Director to join their UK team. The ideal person should have good experience negotiating EPC and ICP contracts and should have a track record of delivering UK renewable projects (ideally Solar or BESS but will look at wind).

The business has a large pipeline of grid-connected Solar and BESS projects ready to be managed - this is a great opportunity to join a recently funded (but established) growing IPP at the Director level and deliver some great projects.

Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive construction plans for renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Oversee the entire construction process, from pre-construction planning to project completion, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary construction team, fostering collaboration and maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Provide guidance and support to project managers, engineers, and subcontractors throughout the construction phase.
Vendor and Contractor Management:
  • Identify, evaluate, and select contractors and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
Budget and Cost Management:
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial forecasts, implementing cost-control measures when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting for construction projects.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations throughout the construction process.
Stakeholder Communication:
  • Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with project development teams, engineering teams, and external partners to address project-specific requirements.
Renewable Energy Expertise:
  • Leverage past experience in delivering solar, BESS, or wind projects to optimize construction strategies and address industry-specific challenges.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices to continually improve construction processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering renewable energy projects in the UK, with a focus on solar, BESS, or wind.
  • Extensive experience in construction management, including budgeting, scheduling, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead large, cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project oversight.

In conclusion, be part of an organisation to drive the renewable energy revolution and contribute to a sustainable future.
