Overview:

Our client, a publicly listed uranium company, is seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead the development and construction of a new uranium mine in Africa. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale mining projects, particularly in the uranium sector, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project from construction to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the project team, ensuring project objectives are met within budget and on schedule;
  • Oversee the development and implementation of project plans, including resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling;
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and regulatory bodies;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards;
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans as necessary;
  • Manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting;
  • Provide regular progress updates to executive management and stakeholders.

    Requirements:
    • Relevant Tertiary Degree University Qualification;
    • Proven track record in managing large-scale mining projects, particularly in the uranium sector (advantageous);
    • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members;
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities;
    • Commitment to relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
