Learning Support Assistant

Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Oldham. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational activities and interventions.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Develop and adapt resources to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Encourage and support students to develop independence and self-confidence.
  • Collaborate with the SEN team and other professionals to implement education plans (IEPs).
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during school hours.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with learning needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development are advantageous but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
