London, Greater London, United Kingdom TCES Create Learning Primary Full time

SENCo with teaching timetable

Salary: £47,064 to £50,416 per annum

Location: TCES Create Learning Primary, Custom House

Contract: Term Time Only

We are seeking a primary qualified teacher, to lead on SEN Coordination for our primary nurture-specific provision, as well as deliver a teaching timetable. This role would suit an individual who has held some leadership responsibility, and is looking to fully develop their SENCo expertise within a specialist school. You will deliver our TCES five-part curriculum throughout the week according to the Principles of Nurture and the TCES Principles of Therapeutic Education, with a strong focus on concrete, creative and playful teaching methods.

You will manage and coordinate the provision of SEND support and ensure appropriate pupil-centred support of bespoke needs, as set out in individual Education, Health and Care Plans. You will ensure that pupils' voice is delivered within annual reviews and that interventions are appropriate.

The provision caters for Key Stage 2 pupils with complex needs who require an intensive nurturing and therapeutic approach to enable them to access the curriculum.

The Complete Education Solution (TCES)

TCES is an independent social enterprise, providing specialist education based in London, supporting exceptional neurodiverse children and young people aged 7 to 19 who have special educational needs and disabilities typically associated with autism, social emotional and mental health needs and associated disorders. Most of them will have experienced multiple placement breakdowns and significant trauma, often resulting in behaviour that challenges. On average pupils will have been excluded from other provisions up to three times before reaching us and had significant periods out of education.

TCES pupils learn at one of our two schools, our Create Learning service or within our Home Learning service; Create in the Community and Create Learning Primary support our most complex and vulnerable pupils, with TCES East London and TCES North West London supporting those who are able to access learning within a school environment. When they are ready, we aim for pupils to step down from Create into one of our main schools or a mainstream provision.

TCES Create Learning Primary is our first Primary Nurture site where education focuses on the developmental milestones and a holistic curriculum. We provide a happy, safe and secure learning environment where pupils grow in independence, form positive relationships and feel valued and respected. Through the nurture approach, pupils will improve their cognitive functioning and ability to learn through better emotional regulation.

Be a Qualified Primary Teacher (holding QTS or QTLS) with post-qualification teaching experience in either the Primary or SEND sector, with experience of middle or senior leadership.Holding the National Award for SEN Coordination or willing to complete in role.Demonstrable experience of raising outcomes for pupils with neurodiverse needs whilst promoting a culture of inclusion.Experience of managing neurodiverse children with SEND, including ASC and/or SEMH, with an understanding of potential implications for communication, learning and behaviour.
