Role Overview

Provide proofing support to Lush's artwork team and deliver great product copy that is on brand, true to the intention of the Lush inventors, and gets Lush products into the hands of customers.

You'll be part of a newly formed product content team, supporting the Lush inventors with writing product copy and ensuring it reaches relevant touch points from labels to web, and working with the artwork team as a final layer of proofing support.

Key Responsibilities

This is a creative role with dual responsibility for providing valuable proofing support to the artwork team and a flexible level of support to Lush's inventors to write copy for their products.

Approximately half of your time will be spent checking signage and label assets for the artwork team. This is an important task that requires strong proofing skills, great attention to detail (spelling and grammar), and a timely turnaround of work to meet deadlines.

The other half of your time will be spent communicating with inventors and putting their messages into words. Working in a team with a trainer, you'll be responsible for gathering product information and messaging from an inventor in their preferred medium (which may be in-person or virtually etc) and ensuring the product information form has been filled out. You may also be required to find resources in our Lush archive, also located in Poole. You'll follow the inventor's lead to write or support them with the creation of product copy that is on-brand, compliant, true to the inventor's intentions and gets products into customers hands This may include but is not limited to label copy, web copy, shop signage and articles. You'll establish a great working relationship with an inventor, who will be able to trust you to ensure their messages reach relevant touchpoints.

Your main responsibilities will include the following:

Proofing copy at an artwork level, providing a valuable check for errors before Lush messages go out into the world. Working closely with a member of the Training Team to get product information from the inventor. This includes filling out the Product Information Form if not done so by the inventor. Checking ingredients stories with our Buying Team for accuracy and recording any 'green claims' we make with our Ethical Compliance team. Supporting inventors with the writing of product copy and the phrasing of claims that could be considered non-compliant or medical if not phrased carefully. Recording and passing on other inventor messages or desired focuses for their range or product to relevant teams, for example, brand. Goals

With the inventors as our clients, the goal of this team is to ensure their messages, and the values of the business, are communicated to our customers in a way that's creative, fun and authentic.

Who the role reports into

This role reports into the Product Content & Compliance Lead.

You will also receive support and direction from the Product Content Editor.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Strong writing skills and the ability to proof your own work (and other people's) Able to work to product copy templates and follow the Lush Tone Of Voice guide. Great soft skills, especially communication. Proactive approach to information-gathering. Great time-management skills and ability to work to a deadline. Flexible approach to writing, as determined by the inventor. You may be required to offer support with phrasing, adapting inventor copy for a different template or writing from scratch with their direction. Creative flair and passion for your craft.
