Who we are

You might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there's more to this great-smelling, partly employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics. We believe our business should put more back into the world than it takes and demonstrate that capitalism can be a force for good.

At Lush HairLab, we take pride in providing an exceptional salon experience, tailoring our services to meet the unique needs of each client's hair and scalp. Our dedication to one-on-one attention allows us to achieve authentic results that align with our clients' personal style. Our primary objective is to offer an enriching and educational journey for our clients, empowering them with knowledge about their hair and scalp health while leaving them feeling fabulous both inside and out.

We are committed to assembling a dynamic team each specialising in an area of hair that truly ignites their soul. We hold a deep appreciation for the artistry of hairdressing and barbering and strongly believe in empowering our stylists to showcase their unique talents. Our objective is to create a diverse team that reflects the broad range of our products, and caters to all hair types and textures. By doing so, we aim to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels embraced and their individual needs are met when they visit our HairLab salons.

We are setting up our first HairLab training academy on Poole Quay to host new HairLab salon managers and staff to train and upskill them in the concept to take to their location. We will also offer hairdressing training to internal staff interested in a new career opportunity, from sales assistants in our retail shops through to support teams and manufacturing employees.

The HairLab training Academy work alongside the Spa Support Team and Retail teams to provide in-house accredited and vocational courses to Lush staff and external learners. We offer a unique opportunity to train Lush employees in a Level 2 hairdressing qualification, as well as our inhouse hair colouring and other treatments. Our mission is to train staff members to provide excellent training through high quality & relevant education and content, whilst striving to keep all training current and to a 5* standard.

Key Responsibilities

Your role with the Lush HairLab would be setting up the training centre, working with VTCT accredited courses.

Learn and provide Lush HairLab services; you will be performing the full client journey including consultation, hair washing and cutting / styling Create, shape, and continue to manage the training for the Lush HairLab Academy Communicate & co-ordinate with VTCT IQA/ EQA Communicate & co-ordinate with other trainers Daily running of training facility Organise practice clients & sign offs Organising products and equipment Continuously assess training to support the business needs inline with the current industry (e.g what new courses are needed for staff) Continue to ensure the highest standards of Hairdressing is met Embrace the Lush ethics and values Coordinate learners accommodation & travel Create The Level 2 Certificate in Hairdressing Course to include the following:

Organise and monitor creation of training materials including online resources Scheme of work Create session plans Coordinate Assessments Recordkeeping Coordinating and delivering training to a high standard Understanding VTCT requirements, policies and procedures H&S content and training including covid protocol Organising products and equipment Showcase a can-do attitude and attention to detail The ability to share Lush's buying stories, ethics and product knowledge throughout the customer journey Must be motivated, trustworthy, and driven Be open to adopting new ways of describing hair by using positive language May be required to travel Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Minimum SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing. 1 year experience with running a column, or able to demonstrate why you should be considered. Qualified assessor . Experience in running VTCT qualifications a bonus Experience in training multiple learners Able to present up-to-date skills and techniques. Have a developed high level skill set in all areas across the cutting sector, passionate in hair cutting and styling. Exceptional customer service skills including careful communication and consultations. Organised and punctual approach to salon life. An open-minded approach to receiving further training in the Lush HairLab way.
