Manager in Training

In order to ensure our customers can enjoy top quality Lush gifts throughout the year we have a strong team, which grows to around 180 people during the seasonal period. For most of the year we run a dayshift with a twilight and weekend shift added around September. Our team is responsible for ordering products and packaging for our gifts, alongside producing, wrapping and ribboning them with love and care.
As Manager in Training you will be expected to work closely with your management team, helping to achieve the smooth running of the department whilst ensuring the highest quality products are produced and despatched. You will be part of a team that will endeavour to achieve high fulfilment and great team morale, with an ability to remain focused. Striving for continuous improvement is a must, through your team taking part in training and encouraging their development to enhance the processes and maintain productivity.
We are looking for an excellent communicator with a passionate and enthusiastic approach who has strong people and management skills. A passion for all production is essential to ensuring the stories that accompany the products are showcased to the team through education and making people feel part of the journey.

Key Responsibilities
Great Communication (local & global)
Clear and concise communication to all levels and areas of the business both internally and with external suppliers.
Stock Control
Helping to maintain a high standard of stock checks and stock accuracy.
Planning
Includes production planning (according to the freshness policy), product launches and future planning.
Reporting
Have a full understanding of reports and information around the business.
Staff Management, Direction and Structure
Managing staff headcount, welfare and team morale
Training & Development (self and team)
Ensure sufficient staff training is given and encourage development of the team and talent spotting.
Fulfilment
Monitor UK, Export and Gift fulfilment daily - constantly aiming for 100%
Quality
Ensuring the quality control of raw materials, packaging, product and all aspects of work within the department.
Maintaining Standards
Cleanliness, H&S, Regulatory Compliance and working environment.
Ethics
Preserve and promote company ethics and green initiatives.
Ambassador for Lush
Represent Manufacturing and the Lush business professionally and 'on-brand' - shop visits, retail/international meetings, product presentations, supplier visits and international trips.
Systems
Be competent in all systems associated within the department.
Department Experience and Understanding
Awareness and understanding of all the roles within the department.
