St John's College, one of the largest Colleges within the University of Cambridge, is seeking to appoint an Academic Administrator to provide a comprehensive and high-quality administrative service to the Directors of Studies, Tutors and wider teaching community in a number of assigned subjects studied by undergraduates at the College, providing support and advice that is efficient, effective and reliable.

Working closely with the Directors of Studies, Tutors, Teaching Fellows and other academic staff in the assigned subjects, and with Academic Administrators working in the same way for other subjects, you will manage a wide range of administrative activities and will be responsible for the continual improvement of processes and systems to facilitate the delivery of an excellent, proactive and efficient service. You will develop reports to monitor the assigned subjects including teaching, results and other statistics and manage the production of, and write content for, reports, presentations and papers for periodic subject review meetings, Tutors meetings, College Council meetings and other meetings as required. The role also includes drafting papers and reports, providing statistical analysis and taking the lead on the implementation of projects and key initiatives arising from Council and other meetings.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, or with equivalent experience. Significant previous administrative experience is essential, along with excellent IT skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills. Candidates will have strong self-management skills, evidence of working effectively in teams, and have the ability to work well under pressure. Previous experience in the University sector and in the management of change would be desirable.
