The University and Team:

As part of an ambitious Mental Health Change Programme ) underway since 2021, our collegiate university has delivered rapid growth and strategic development of prevention-focused wellbeing and mental health support. We are seeking a passionate wellbeing professional to join a Student Wellbeing Service ) delivering impact for students, and the staff who support them, at this transformational time for the University.

About the role:

The Student Wellbeing Adviser's main role is to deliver high-quality assessment, triage and the provision of 'one-at-a-time' psychological wellbeing support informed by evidence-based practice. The role holder will be a point of contact and guidance for student-facing staff within Colleges and Academic Departments, offering responsive professional advice and coordination of student support. They will, as required, support our whole-community approach to mental health and wellbeing by delivering presentations, workshops or training sessions for staff and students. The candidate will join a supportive team and Department working within a stepped care approach, in partnership with a network of College and University student support services.

Subject to recruiting a suitably experienced candidate, this exciting new post is designed with a portion of the remit dedicated to delivering training for staff as part of an emerging training programme in student mental health and wellbeing at Cambridge. As such, the role is well-suited to a candidate with experience and confidence in applying their knowledge and expertise to guide and support non-specialist colleagues or trainees.
