As Maintenance Assistant at Sodexo, you will be the go-to person, the one with the answers to everyone's questions, and the one who knows how to keep the facilities operating smoothly. You will be the specialist who will provide technical advice and support for the maintenance of equipment, building fabric, and utility services across the Hereford County Hospital estate. What you'll do:

  • Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment within the hospital estate, carrying out a range of repairs and new works to a high standard. You will be responsible for the service, installation, maintenance, and testing of complex systems.
  • Comply with all Company and Client policies and procedures, and statutory regulations, including health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your workplace
  • Actively champion a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff

What you bring:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field
  • Experience repairing plant and equipment, as well as the ability to fault find, read drawings, diagnose, and repair equipment using your technical knowledge.
  • Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines, along with good organisation skills
  • Great communication skills, strong teamwork, and a positive attitude
  • Capable of working as part of a team or unsupervised, and of remaining calm under pressure
