This role is a a brilliant opportunity to see how decision making happens at the most senior level in a Government department.


You will be a key player in the small DCMS Governance Team with significant exposure to the most senior leaders in DCMS, working with them to ensure departmental priorities are delivered through strategic forward looks, actions and the day to day running of the committees.

You will be leading the delivery of some of the main boards and committees in the department (this could include the Executive Board; the Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee; the Delivery and Risk Committee, ensuring they have the correct information coming from a variety of teams and sources, following up on actions and decisions, and clear record keeping.

You will build and maintain positive and effective working relationships across DCMS and Whitehall, including the Cabinet Office, National Audit Office and Government Internal Audit Agency.

Person specification
The ideal candidate would have the following key skills and experience:

Essential requirements:
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, dealing with conflicting priorities and delivering to tight deadlines.

Ability to ensure work is delivered on time to a high quality, and able to manage multiple priorities at the same time.

Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and influencing and negotiating with others, through strong written communication skills.
A good customer service ethos, interacting with a range of different stakeholders promptly and efficiently, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.

Desirable skills:
Experience of working on Governance or understanding of Governance best practice.
A broad understanding of the work of Government.
A self starter, with a track record of working with autonomy.

Tuesday 28th May at 2pm
