Data Governance Manager

We are partnering with a forward-thinking FinTech to find a Data Governance Manager who will oversee data governance activities and improve data quality and governance. The role will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise-wide data governance framework to achieve consistency and quality in data, enhancing business trust in data.

This role offers the flexibility of working from home with occasional travel to the UK office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead data risk management across the business
  • Translate policies into actionable steps to enhance data management
  • Assess data quality, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend improvements
  • Identify business functions managing data locally and implement robust controls where necessary
  • Drive audit findings related to data to demonstrate improvement in business practices
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data-related issues, collaborating with stakeholders to communicate data risks and provide guidance, training, and educational materials
  • Complete data governance documentation, including DPIA, RoPA, and Cookie Privacy Assessments
  • Design and implement first-line exception reporting
Requirements:
  • Degree or advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial services organization, with data or project management and oversight experience
  • Knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to enterprise information assets, and data protection approaches
  • Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate insights to other business units
  • Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
