Role Overview:

Seeking an experienced and ambitious Governance Compliance Manager to join a 2nd line Risk & Compliance team within a reputable Bank. You will assist the Head of Compliance by preparing and presenting clear, detailed, timely, and precise reports on Compliance and conduct risks, assessing these against the organisation’s risk appetite and forecasting future risk trends.

This is a leadership role that requires strong regulatory knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in Compliance & Governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and enforce the regulatory risk management framework, compliance policies, and procedures.
  • Produce sophisticated reports on compliance and conduct risk profiles.
  • Represent Compliance at various committees and forums.
  • Facilitate compliance committees and provide insights to senior management.
  • Oversee compliance controls and frameworks, including policies, SOPs, and IARs.
  • Ensure effective Risk Appetite Framework metrics and manage risk issues/events.
  • Monitor risk events and ensure remedial actions are completed.
  • Support regulatory returns, ICAAP processes, and regulatory visits.
  • Ensure effective whistleblowing investigations and support whistleblowers.
  • Drive compliance governance and maintain strong knowledge of PRA, FCA regimes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a 2nd line compliance function, within an FCA regulated financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage at all levels and report write for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and think strategically.
