Main duties and responsibilities

You will be responsible for the teaching and assessment of pre-registration and/or postgraduate Physiotherapy students at the University and support them whilst they are on their practice placement site. You will utilise current evidence-base to underpin teaching and learning activities. You may participate as required in the development and reviews of programmes including inter-professional developments across the School.

You will contribute to the administration of the School by undertaking additional roles if required, such as being a module lead and joining teams involved in activities such as admissions, timetabling or placement support. You will undertake and contribute to Physiotherapy research where appropriate.

Skills and Experience required

You will be an experienced practising Physiotherapist with the HCPC with recent academic and/or clinical experience and understanding of the UK system. You will have a broad range of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Your application will demonstrate a sustained interest and knowledge of contemporary Physiotherapy practice and it is essential that you have good oral and written communication skills and be proficient in the English Language. You will demonstrate a willingness to undertake physiotherapy research if appropriate and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

You will be able to work without close supervision, have the ability to organise yourself and others, take initiative and be self-motivating, and be adaptable to change and flexible to team and workload requirements.

Qualifications required

The successful applicant will be educated with an Honours degree in (or equivalent level 6 qualification) in Physiotherapy and be educated with a Master's degree (or equivalent level 7 qualification and/or demonstrate substantial clinical experience) in a relevant subject. It is essential that you are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Physiotherapist and have membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
