About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Qualitative Research Assistant to join the CHARMER research team. CHARMER is an NIHR Programme Grant for Applied Research funded project and collaborating organisations are the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge University Hospitals Foundation Trust and the Universities of York, Leeds, Newcastle East Anglia. The project aims to refine and test a practitioner behaviour change intervention to increase proactive deprescribing for older people in hospital.

You will be an integral member of the CHARMER research team and the main duties will be to support the process evaluation of the CHARMER trial. This role plays a pivotal role in the important interface between the CHARMER study and external stakeholders.

You will need to be an enthusiastic, flexible candidate who is expected to be proactive and highly organised. The research team operates a flexible-hybrid working model and everyone is supported to contribute effectively to ensuring that milestones are delivered in a timely manner. Some members of the research teamwork 100% remotely and the successful candidate may opt to do this if they wish.

About you

The ideal candidate will have excellent IT and organisational skills and demonstrable experience of conducting interviews with different stakeholders. You will also have experience in qualitative analysis and be able to use software such as NVivo to support analysis.

You will have strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively individually and as part of team. You will be comfortable managing and prioritising your own workload to deal with urgent tasks, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail. You will be joining a busy, dynamic and successful team in a role that offers varied and exciting opportunities to engage with a wide range of individuals. This role will also provide you with the opportunity to make a significant contribution to research.
