Data Centre Supervisor / Manager

As part of a growing engineering team, we require a Data Centre Supervisor to support the DC Manager in the management and operations of the data centre facilities in Manchester.

The Data Centre Supervisor is accountable to the Data Centre Manager and Human Resource Department.

Assisting the DC Manager in the daily operational aspects of the data centers.
Supervising the front-line engineers and maintaining the day-to-day rota to ensure sufficient and effective staff resourcing.
Ensuring the on-call is manned and changes coordinated for the 24x7 operation.
Assisting with the project planning and maintenance of the on-going works within the facilities.
Ensuring all staff, contractors and customers maintain required PPE relevant to their areas of access.
Maintenance of the supply chain and ensuring onsite suppliers/contractors are suitably pre-vetted prior to site attendance.
Carrying out troubleshooting and diagnostics of failed critical equipment and determine root cause of equipment failure.
Innovate, Implement, and practice energy savings and reduce the cost of operation.
Provide supervision for the day-to-day operations and monitoring of the Data Center electrical & mechanical components such as CHILLERS, CRAC/CRAH VESDA , Access Control, CCTV, Water Leakage Detection etc.
Working with the DC Manager to maintain necessary supervision, scheduling corrective maintenance in the Data Centers and change management.
Second level troubleshooting and resolution of Mechanical and Electrical related faults relating to Generators, transformers, UPSes, Chillers, Static Switches , CRAC and CRAH units, secondary Pumps, Extractor fans, UPS, Low voltage switch boards etc. High voltage installation.
Ensures a preventative and predictive maintenance program is implemented and followed throughout with support vendors as planned, alongside the Data Centre Manager.
Support and maintain access control and CCTV systems.
Maintain adequate records for undergoing operational audits both internal as well as external
Ensure proper and effective housekeeping within the facility

Your main point of contact and mentor will be the Data Centre Manager.

The business operates 24x7x365.
As part of your employment you will be provided an on-call allowance and be available as a point of escalation for urgent/out of hours alarms. This allowance is provided to compensate for calls that require your assistance over the phone with our customers, or in person at any of our Data Centre facilities on short notice.
