The Faculty of Business and Law is one of four faculties within the University. It offers a range of innovative apprenticeships, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including in accounting and finance, business management, criminology and policing, economics, law, marketing, politics, sociology and tourism. The Faculty's primary focus is to provide all students with the opportunity to engage and develop industry connections and to experience practical learning that prepares them for life beyond university.

We are seeking an experienced academic leader from either a business or law background, who is energised by the prospect of contributing to the next phase of Middlesex University's development. Reporting directly into the Vice Chancellor, the new Dean will be acritical member of the University's executive team.

Candidates will bring significant leadership experience from within a school or faculty of comparable scale. They will be able to convene and inspire the 182 staff within the faculty towards realising the vision of the new Vice Chancellor, bringing energy and momentum to the post. The role carries ultimate responsibility for overseeing research, teaching, student experience and stakeholder engagement. Priorities will include raising standards across all areas of activity, running a tight ship financially, leading and developing staff effectively, and shaping the future strategy of the faculty. A collaborative leadership approach coupled with effective management of strategic change are fundamental to this role. The post-holder will work in close partnership with relevant internal post holders and cultivate and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders such as industry, civil society, public sector bodies and Higher and Further Education partners.
