We have a brand-new role for an experienced Project Manager to be accountable for managing the progress and completion of infrastructure delivery projects for our Transport Portfolio Office for the Delivery Directorate. This role will play a critical part in supporting Transport for West Midlands' delivery of Rail programme delivering multiple major rail projects across the region. This role is part of a growing delivery team and will influence new ways of working as we go through an exciting period of change, establishing a multi-modal delivery directorate and creating strong programme and project management functions, within a growing transport delivery portfolio with a value of c.£1.2 billion.
You will be responsible to the senior project manager, executing project management activities for the delivery team. You will be joining a dynamic and growing portfolio office. Using your initiative and experience, you will establish collaborative relationships and lead the completion of project deliverables across the lifecycle for Rail.

What you will be doingManage the project management plan for each project.Manage and coordinate critical project activities, cost, time, and quality utilising project management resources.Manage stakeholder communications at project level.Work with colleagues across delivery, portfolio and technical services teams to coordinate commercial, procurement and enabling service resources and activities.Manage and support project governance.Deputise for the Senior Project Manager when required.About youDemonstrable experience delivering major infrastructure projects, preferably for Transport (Heavy Rail/Light Rail/Highways).Understanding of the Rail network and some experience working with stakeholders in the Rail industry is preferable.Experience coordinating and managing the work of multi-disciplinary project teams and line management experience.Experience implementing project controls, governance, and reporting.Experience of contract management through the procurement and management of suppliers.Good commercial acumen and understanding of project management methods and controls.Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships across a broad set of stakeholders.Excellent organisational, written, and verbal skills.Ability to work well under pressure, demonstrating agility, drive, and solution focused attitude.Degree in relevant subject e.g., Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction, or similar.How to apply. Hybrid working and location. The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane. It is expected that you can split your time between the office and working remotely, with at least 2 days a week spent in the office. Please note, this is the minimum expectation.
