An opportunity has arisen within Head Office Finance for an Accounts Assistant to join the Global Finance Function. Reporting to the Head Office Financial Controller, the successful individual will be part of the team responsible for the accounting of the UK Head Office companies, including the main Finance Company and Holding Companies. This is a broad role and therefore the right attitude and a drive for learning will be crucial to help maintain the high standards within the Head Office team.
Description
The duties and responsibilities for this Accounts Assistant role include but are not limited to:
Maintaining the purchase ledger.Preparing monthly reporting packs for Head Office Financial ControllerPerforming coding of invoices.Preparing month end cash book and journal for each entity.Supporting year-end and mid-year financial audit.Assist with intercompany billing raised within an agreed time period.Assisting with accruals, prepayments, fixed asset registers, tax and VAT.Preparing of annual statutory financial statements.
Skills
The skills and experience required for this Accounts Assistant role include but are not limited to:
A minimum of 12 months experience in a similar position and studying towards an accounting qualification.Strong Excel skills and computer literacy.Self-motivated, efficient and reliable.The ability to work under strict time constraints.Integrity to handle sensitive and confidential data.Very good interpersonal skills.
Experience in any of the following accounting packages is an advantage (though not essential): IBM Cognos Controller, SUN Accounting, and PeopleSoft.
