Visiting Music Teacher

For September 2024, we are seeking to employ a drums and percussion teacher, on a self-employed basis, who would be interested in developing this aspect of our instrument provision within the school. Aside from individual lessons we would like to develop co-curricular activities that would inspire music making though ensembles and workshops etc.

We currently have 6 hours of drum kit and percussion teaching in the school and are taking applications from the new intake. Our outgoing teacher also runs a percussion ensemble which contributes to the school's busy calendar of musical events.

Students are taught for 30 minutes per lesson individually, or in pairs depending on skill level. On this basis, we would probably be able to offer a minimum 6.5 hours teaching in the first instance with scope for expansion.
