The Position: We're looking for an Attendance Mentor

NWSLC are recruiting an enthusiastic Attendance Mentor to work with students identified pre-enrolment and for the duration of their time at college, as required. You will work with a case load of students that have been identified with below target attendance in year or those with known barriers to attending and accessing full-time education to provide supportive and coaching interventions to attend and engage positively.

What skills are we looking for:

  • A recognised qualification at Level 3
  • Literacy & Numeracy qualifications to at least Level 2 or equivalent
  • Experience of providing coaching and or mentor support in a previous work or voluntary setting

Responsibilities for the role:

  1. Support students to achieve their full potential at college by promoting a positive attendance and punctuality culture.
  2. Have a visible presence on college sites to offer support interventions and carry out attendance checks to monitor the impact of interventions.
  3. Form strong relationships with students and where appropriate parents/carers in order to improve levels of attendance.
  4. Update college records, analyse attendance data and provide reports to leaders and managers.
