Job Purpose:

To assist in the provision of quality care and play opportunities for children aged 2 to 3 years attending Twinkle Stars Flying Start Daycare setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assist in the provision of a safe environment for all children as appropriate to their age and ability and in accordance with CIW regulations.
  • To assist in the inclusive provision of stimulating and varied play activities for all children.
  • To work with other members of the playgroup team to develop and evaluate programmes of activities.
  • To provide equality of opportunity for all children and parents who use the playgroup.
  • To follow the ethos of Flying Start childcare through daily practice, planning and attitude.
  • To comply and complete all paperwork as required by the council, Flying Start and CIW.
  • To maintain strict confidentiality related to information held (in writing or given verbally) concerning children and their families.
  • To participate in training and staff development.
  • To safeguard staff, children and families in accordance with council and service guidance & policy
  • To work flexibly across all Flying Start Parenting groups and daycare settings as required.

  • To, as a statutory duty, adhere to the Council's Corporate Safeguarding Policy and associated policies and procedures and to report concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children or adults at risk. In order to support you in this, you are required to access safeguarding training at the level which is relevant to this post.
  • As a term of your employment, you may be required to undertake such other duties and/or times of work as may reasonably be required of you, commensurate with your grade or general level of responsibility within the organisation.
  • Although you will be provided with a base, you will be required to work from various locations in accordance with the needs of the role.
