About the Role

The Cardiff County Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Parenting Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of our Early Help service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality parenting support programs to families across Cardiff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate effective programs of support and intervention for families with children under 5 years old.
  • Contribute to the creation of a welcoming and inclusive environment that is sensitive to the needs of adults and children using our service.
  • Foster a safe place for parents and children to play and interact, supporting wellbeing and enhancing positive parenting skills.
  • Work collaboratively with the Area Team Leader to develop and implement programs that meet the needs of our service users.
  • Proactively contribute to the development of our service, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements
  • A Level qualification in Children's Care, Learning, Play, and Development is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the developmental needs of children and the ability to deliver information to parents in a sensitive manner.
  • Non-judgmental approach, demonstrating empathy and understanding when working with service users who may be experiencing challenge and trauma.
  • Ability to problem-solve and respond appropriately to disclosures from service users concerning vulnerable children and/or adults, child protection, and/or domestic abuse.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle, as the role requires travel across all areas of the city.
