Contract: The role is a full-time, 6-month sabbatical-cover contract starting approximately in November 2024.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the thriving rights department at Little, Brown, one of Hachette UK's largest divisions. Our friendly, knowledgeable and energetic team handle a huge variety of rights across a wide range of genres from US and translation through to film and television. We are defined by both our focus on budgets as well as strong emphasis on author and customer care.

What you'll be doing

The position will involve primarily providing administrative support to the department to assist in the selling of rights and ensuring high-quality service to customers.Some key responsibilities will include dealing with rights queries, preparing schedules and materials for major book fairs, handling the sale of production materials, managing and updating systems, processing and tracking contracts and income. It is a varied and busy role which offers many opportunities to learn and get involved in all aspects of rights. Who we are looking forThe successful candidate will report to the Senior Rights Manager and will need to be a team player with an eye for detail, the ability to use their own initiative and have strong organisational and time-management skills.You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with our customers and in-house colleagues.The successful applicant is likely to have some office experience, preferably in publishing or other media organisations.You will be organised, efficient and able to prioritise your work effectively.
