Researcher for Textile Analysis using Computer Vision

You will be involved in an Innovate UK project working on designing a Digital Twin of the platform for textile analysis and manipulation. You will improve our current tools implemented in Unity for analytics and simulations. You will also attend project meetings and calls, discuss project issues with the other partners and help with the related deliverables, publications and demonstrations.

The Person

The successful candidate will have a degree in Environmental Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

You will have proven experience in developing digital twins and analytical tools, preferably within an industrial or academic setting. You will also have proficiency in Unity 3D for simulation and modelling, strong programming skills in languages such as C# and experience with data analysis, and related tools. Knowledge of textile recycling processes is desirable.

The Faculty

There are few faculties across the UK university landscape as varied in their scope as the Faculty of Engineering, Computing & the Environment (ECE). For academic professionals, this all adds up to a truly vibrant, exciting environment in one of the largest and most diverse STEM faculties in the sector.

This is a full time, fixed term position for 6 months with a starting salary of £33,153 per annum.
