WHAT TO EXPECT

Join our team of next generation thinkers The JLR Electrification Engineering Team requires an experienced Validation Engineer for the next generation of HV System architectures.

The objective is to ensure the HV Systems are designed and tested to critical Engineering and Regulatory requirements. Your key accountabilities and responsibilities will be to work with the HV Systems Design and Quality Engineers to generate and run test cases, physical Testing of the HV Systems on PIL and Laboratory environments, and maintenance and Cascade of the Test cases from Dassualt Toolset. You will also be responsible for the management of the AIMS process, and will create and produce test reports and validation plans.

You will have the opportunity to work on exciting new projects within diverse and inclusive teams where your ideas are heard. A candidate with strong people skills, and the ability to work individually and in a cross functional team and someone who has excellent communication and presentation skills, will be able to excel in this role. We are looking for someone who is able to meet deadlines, and has the ability to make effective decisions in the best interest of the business and customer.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Knowledge, skills & experience:

Essential:

  • A knowledge of typical BEV, MHEV and PHEV system solutions and technologies.
  • Experience of complex high voltage systems.
  • Understanding of control systems hardware, including sensor technology, control software and diagnostics.
  • Understanding of regulatory needs applicable to BEV and PHEV solutions.
  • A working knowledge of the design and release process
  • Working Knowledge of Problem Resolution Techniques e.g. 8D
  • The ability to understand commodity timing plans (including Design Verification plans, programme plans and supplier timing plans)
  • Experience of design FMEA's
  • Good appreciation of design for the automotive environment and of system level issues and software is required.
  • Experience of power train test rigs and HV Laboratory test equipment.
  • Leadership ability / expereince
