We are looking to recruit a Teacher of Food and Nutrition who will enthuse pupils to learn with a combination of great subject knowledge, energy and dedication.

We have high expectations for our students as they grow and develop, and all our staff provide important role models to them in terms of positive attitude, work ethic and diligence.

In this role, you will:

Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectivesFacilitate learning by establishing effective relationships with pupilsMaintain organised learning resourcesCreate a positive learning environment in the classroomDevelop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of childrenAssess and record progress and prepare pupils for national testsLink pupils' knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways to encourage it further, challenging and inspiring pupils to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding As an 11–19 secondary school serving nearly 1,300 students in central Gateshead, we have a clear vision for excellence in character education, the examined curriculum and in service to our community, grounded in our strong Christian ethos.
